What to Wear Hiking

I remember when I first started hiking. I owned literally no hiking gear. Staying warm and dry was important, so I had to do my best to stay dry with the tennis shoes and jeans I had. Outdoor gear seemed appealing, but out of price range. Felt lucky to own a winter jacket that cost $20 from the clearance rack at Big 5. Thankfully, those days are over. We want to show you what options are available so you can hike in comfort, but also avoid any serious issues. The gear we recommend is designed to last multiple seasons. Remember, it is always better to have too many layers than to not have enough.

P.S. When it is time to clean out your closet for fresh, new outdoor outfits for your outdoor lifestyle, try having a garage sale or donating your clothes so people with less access to high quality outdoor clothing can have the same opportunity you had.

My closet is literally 75% Eddie Bauer. This jacket has a 650-fill premium down insulation, with a low activity rating of 45 degrees, and moderate activity rate of -10 degrees. Pair with an EB Shasta beanie, and Radiator Fleece gloves, and you will be warm enough to brave any type of weather! And be fashionable at the same time!

Functionality on every level for the female outdoor warrior. The Stretch Zion Performance fabric, and durable water repellent finish is so fantastic that you can easily log an all day hike, and wear the same pants for a night on the town. I've worn these pants for hiking, working, enjoying my favorite coffee shop- you name it. The dirt brushes right off, so you can go from dirtbag to desk junkie without anyone noticing.

All- season, every occasion. Basic never looked so good. Eddie Bauer uses superior cotton that is combed to make the yarn smoother, then it is treated with a silicone finish to make it ultra-soft. I literally own every color made, as long-sleeve crewneck t-shirt compliments my hiking outfit, errand outfit, work outfit. Wearable under  jackets, fleece radiators, cardigans.
